One cannot escape the ups and downs of life. Â
But one can always find calm in nature.Â
One can find comfort and clarity in the company of woods.
WHAT IS FOREST BATHING

The medicine of the forest is the antidote to our modern stressful lifestyles.

Shinrin-Yoku or Forest Bathing is a practice that originated in Japan in 1982 as part of a national health programme designed to reduce population stress levels.
The practices of Forest Bathing is a way of immersing our senses in the atmosphere of the forest for relaxation and positive health and wellness benefits.

As we strengthen our connection with the natural world, our sense of beauty, wonder, awe and curiosity is restored, and our brains and nervous systems are calmed.
Stress levels are lowered, and the immune system is boosted.

Forest Bathing is a health-promoting, salutogenic, nature connecting practice that aims to enhance wellbeing, relieve stress, and encourage relaxation.

It is underpinned by mindfulness principles, encouraging: the opening of the senses to the forest atmosphere; slowly walking through the forest; observing details of the forest; resting in stillness; inhaling the forest air; and fostering an emotional connection to the landscape.
It engages in effortless attention.

WONDER WHAT HAPPENS ON YOUR FOREST BATHING SESSION?

The Forest Bathing session takes participants slowly and mindfully through natural settings. I will provide a series of ‘invitations’ or activities along the way to help awaken all of your senses and to deepen your connection with yourself, others, and the more-than-human world. The aim of the practice is to find pleasure in the present moment and place, not necessarily about gaining specific naturalist knowledge. Walks are very gentle, covering approximately 0.5 mile at most, and last for two hours.

We begin with drawing attention to the pleasures of place and the present moment through a guided nature meditation in the outdoors with some gentle sound healing music, followed by various sensory activities, finishing with a ‘sitspot’ and traditional tea ceremony to embody your experience through locally foraged herbal teas.

Forest Bathing sessions can be adapted to suit the needs of different clients and can be tailored for individuals, private groups, families, businesses, healthcare institutes, kids, schools, and corporate clients.
